How to Unspam an Email Address

When you receive an email from a person or organization and report the email as "spam," the address is added to a list within your email provider and forevermore will be routed to a "spam" folder. Your unwanted mail, or spam, is not included in any notifications you receive for new mail and is largely invisible to you unless you choose to look for it. If you have inadvertently placed a message in the spam folder or would like to receive notification of mail from a flagged email address in your regular in-box, you will need to change the designation of the sender's email address, or "unspam" the address.

Step 1 Open your Gmail or Yahoo Mail account. Click on "Spam" from the list of options on the left side of the page. Find the message from the sender whose designation you wish to change and click on the message to open it. Step 2 Click "Not Spam" at the top of the page. The message will be automatically moved to your regular in-box and the address will be removed from the list of senders sent to the spam folder. Step 3 Open your Hotmail account. Choose and click "Junk" from the left-hand menu. Click to open the message from the sender you wish to "unspam" or click inside the adjacent box to the left of the message. A check will appear in the box to signify that you have selected the corresponding message. Step 4 Click "Not Junk" at the top of the page to move the message and remove the email address of the sender from the list of spam senders.
